Research, scholarship and creative activity showcased
Biology Professor emeritus Clarke Garry returned to campus Tuesday to take part in the 10th anniversary of Celebrating Research, Scholarship and Creative Achievement (CRSCA) in the Davee Library.
Garry and Artist Gaylord Schanilec were guest speakers at the event. The pair authored and illustrated "Mayflies of the Driftless Region." Articles, books, academic posters, fine and performance art, playbills and other items created by faculty and staff during

Strategic Plan listening session set for April 3
Chancellor Van Galen, in conjunction with the Strategic Planning Coordinating Group, will host a listening session on Tuesday, April 3, from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
in the Kinnickinnic Theater, UC, to solicit campus feedback on the strategic plan. To date, the components of the strategic plan—including mission, vision, values, goal, initiatives, and metrics—have been approved in draft form by the UWRF Faculty Senate and
the Chancellor. Campus community members may provide feedback on the components of the plan through the strategic planning website at http://www.uwrf.edu/strategicPlan/PathwaytoDistinction.cfm or
by attending the listening session. The UWRF Faculty Senate will be voting on the plan April 18.
Welcome for new staff in Technology Services
The Division of Technology Services is hosting a “Welcome Gathering” today, March 28, from 2:30-3 p.m. in 163 Davee Library for two new employees of the division. Ben Deneen is

UWRF Falcon Film Festival is March 30
Voting for the "People's Choice" category for the UWRF 48 Hour Film Competition runs today,
March 28, and tomorrow, March 29, in the Falcon's Nest, UC, or on the UWRF 48 Hour Film Competition YouTube Channel. Ballots
are available at the Information Desk in the UC. Winning films will be announced at the Fourth Annual UWRF Falcon Film Festival on Friday, March 30, at 7:30 p.m. in the Falcon's Nest and will also include a UWRF
student film work exhibition in the documentary, music video or narrative (fictional genre) categories. The festival is free and open to all. Free popcorn. Contact

Women's Leadership Conference set for April 21
A Women’s Leadership Conference, "Women Who Step Forward: Breaking
Through Barriers to Women's Leadership" is being hosted by St. Mary’s University of Minnesota on April 21. Because
of our nonprofit status, faculty and staff may register at the student rate of $45 for the full day conference with all sessions, breakfast, lunch and dessert. Keynote speakers include Marilyn Tam, former CEO of Aveda, Reebok, and vice president of Nike as
well as Julie Gilbert Newrai, former senior vice president of Best Buy. Both will share stories from their personal journeys and will discuss the importance of supporting women in business, and making the best of who you are to achieve personal and professional
