Students represent UWRF at National Conference on Undergraduate Research


Some 44 UWRF students and staff including Chancellor Van Galen boarded a bus at the UC Wednesday to head to the airport to catch a flight to Ogden, Utah, for the National Conference on Undergraduate Research 2012 (NCUR) at Weber State University. Students from every discipline will be representing UW-River Falls at the conference which runs through March 31. This is the eleventh straight year that UWRF has participated in the conference. Next year NCUR will be held at UW-La Crosse. Updated UWRF Fee Payment Agreement
Please be aware that all students must sign the updated fee payment agreement prior to registering for summer or fall term. Fee payment holds for the new agreement were placed March 28. Electronically signing the fee payment agreement in eSIS will remove the Fee Payment Agreement hold immediately. Students should read the agreement before electronically signing as there is a change to the payment policy. Beginning in fall 2012 there is a $75 late payment fee for not paying tuition on time. A minimum of one-third of fall charges after subtracting pending financial aid is due by Aug. 31. Contact brenda.rudberg@uwrf.edu with questions.

Change to rolling deposit access April 4
Please be aware that student access to the rolling deposit page is moving to the eSIS Student Center April 4. Students can currently access the Registration Deposit page from eSIS Student Center Account Inquiry, Registration Deposit tab. On or after April 4, students should use the Registration Deposit link in the Financials section of the Student Center page to remove registration deposit holds. Only the location is changing, the process will remain the same. Deposit holds will be removed immediately after the rolling deposit process is completed. Spring brat sale in Falcon Foods
Falcon Foods in having a spring brat sale. All brats on hand are $3.50 per pound in limited varieties. There are also several flavors of ice cream and many new cheese flavors (like Sweet and Spicy Jack) to serve with your brats. New store hours are Wednesday 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 3-5:30 p.m.; Thursday and Friday from 3-5:30 p.m. Contact steven.h.watters@uwrf.edu.

*  4 p.m., 271 CSH, Biotechnology Seminar: "Responses of Arteries to Altered Blood Flow and Pressure," by Research Associate Zhijie Wang, a research Associate in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at UW-Madison. Wang’s travel is supported through a NSF Advance grant awarded to the UW Women & Science Program. Prior to the talk from 11 a.m.-1 pm, students are invited to meet with Wang in 173 CSH to discuss research and graduate program opportunities. Refreshments will be provided.
