Fall lesson plan affords hands on experience

ETF webinars for November
ETF is offering 30-minute live, interactive webinars designed to increase your understanding of Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) benefits. Individuals can also ask questions at the end of these sessions. Upcoming sessions include topics such as the Variable Fund, additional contributions, buying service, and calculating benefits. Falcon Scholars interviewers needed
The Admissions Office will be conducting interviews for the Falcon Scholars scholarship program, and we need your help. We are looking for staff and faculty members to help interview the potential Falcon Scholars on Friday, Dec. 13. The interview sessions are from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 1-3:30 p.m. You can volunteer for one session or both sessions. To help out, email [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> or call 3500. If you have volunteered to interview before, please let Tony know that as well. For those who cannot help in December, we will have another interview day in February.

Faculty and staff regalia rental orders
If you need to order regalia for fall commencement, contact Sherry or Kathy at the Falcon Shop at 3962 by Friday, Nov. 8.

List of candidates for bachelor and master degrees
The Fall 2013 & J-Term 2014 Graduation List of Candidates for Bachelor and Master Degrees is available at http://www.uwrf.edu/Registrar/Commencement/Index.cfm. This is a list of those students who will complete their degree requirements at the end  of Fall 2013 or J-Term 2014 and have applied for graduation. Campus clothing drive
Nine student organizations are teaming up to collect clothing and various other items (including, but not limited to, blankets, shoes, backpacks) in a university/community-wide clothing drive now through Dec. 6. Donation boxes are located in the UC, all the residence halls, and throughout many of the academic buildings. Please inform students of this collection drive. Items collected will be given to international, regional, and local charities that have a greater need for these items. The concert includes works composed and arranged by Nelson for large jazz ensemble, including classic compositions Stolen Moments, African Sunrise, The Artist's Rightful Place, Emancipation Blues, St Louis Blues, and Hoe Down. Now You Know

Several bills affecting the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) were recently introduced in the Wisconsin State Legislature.
*  2013 SB 330 and 2013 AB 414 allow participating employees in the WRS to purchase years of creditable service for active service in the U.S. armed forces.
*  2013 AB 470 increases the minimum retirement age for all employees by two years.
*  2013 AB 471 changes the formula method for calculating a WRS retirement benefit. Read more are http://etf.wi.gov/news/leg-update11042013.htm.
