Mac Mavericks moves
Technology Services will provide an updater to OS X 10.9 Mavericks for eligible Macintoshes as soon as possible. Until then, please do not upgrade on your own, as we are investigating compatibility issues. Kingian nonviolence training free to faculty, staff, students

Reminder:  All UWRF students, faculty, staff and alumni have a free opportunity to explore nonviolent leadership from Civil Rights Activist David C. Jehnsen in the upcoming 2 Day Core Orientation to Kingian Nonviolence training Nov. 8-9. Registration deadline is 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5. Smoked turkeys available
Falcon Foods is selling hickory smoked and cured whole turkeys for Thanksgiving or Christmas. The turkeys are completely cooked and ready to eat. Turkeys are $3.25 per pound and are 8-11 pounds each. Quantities are limited. Email [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> to purchase a turkey. Order by Nov. 13 for Thanksgiving and by Dec. 4 for Christmas.

Poinsettia pre-orders
The UWRF Horticulture Society is selling poinsettias again this year. Plants available for pre-order include 4"-6" Poinsettia (white, red, pink, or marble), cyclamen (pink or white), Norfolk Pine. Prices vary from $6 - $12. Pre-order plants will be delivered to your office on Dec 4 and 5. The UWRF Horticulture Society will be having their annual Poinsettia Sale in Ag Science on Dec. 4 and then in the UC Dec. 5-6. There will be more plant variety available at this sale, but by pre-ordering you will be insured that you will get the color and quantity that you need. Friday, Nov. 8, 10-10:50 a.m., Falcon's Nest, UC, "How to Use a Social Action Research Survey in Your Work for Social Change," presented by David C. Jehnsen. This framework engages communities in identifying key issues and framing them around universal human values. Jehnsen was an activist and organizer in the Chicago Movement working with Dr. King.  He has since dedicated his life to codifying the strategy and philosophy of Dr. King's nonviolent social change work into training opportunities for others. Free and open to the public. Monday, Nov. 11, 1:30 p.m., Wind River Room, UC, Information Session: Kinni Outdoor Adventures Ski/Snowboard Trip to Breckenridge, CO, Jan. 5-11, 2014. Learn more about the trip and how to sign up. Cost is $600/faculty/staff, $625/public, $575/UWRF students. This trip will depart via coach bus Sunday evening, arriving in Breckenridge on Monday. Participants will stay in The Village at Breckenridge condos located at the base of the mountain and will have the opportunity to ski or snowboard for three of the four days in Colorado.
