UWRF students shine at UW System Symposium



UWRF netted two outstanding presentation awards at the 14th Annual UW System Symposium for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity held in Milwaukee April 24. Ryan Ruegsegger received an Outstanding Presentation award for his project, "China's Dairyman,” and Josh Gustafson received an Outstanding Presentation award for his short film, "How to Horror: The Differences between American and Japanese Horror." Ruegsegger and Gustafson, both seniors, developed their projects through a course-embedded research assignment in Lissa Schneider-Rebozo's Global Perspectives "Modern East Asian Literature and Cinema" course. There were more than 650 undergraduate presentations at the symposium this year (breaking the prior System record of 450) and only 15 awards were given.





Student applicants sought for UW System Board of Regents



Governor  Walker is seeking applicants for the traditional student representative on the UW System Board of Regents. The position is a student representative over the age of 18 to serve a two-year term. The representative must be enrolled at least half-time in a University of Wisconsin institution, be in good academic standing, be a Wisconsin resident, and be enrolled for their entire term. Pork sale ends Thursday

The final day of the 2015 Boxed Pork Sale is Thursday, April 30, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in 150 Ag Science. Internal position opening

Unclassified Internal UWRF candidates only. Apply online at https://jobs.uwrf.edu/ by May 1. Position Title:  Administrative Program Manager II. Working Title:  Sustainability and Custodial Supervisor. The position will serve as the Chief Sustainability Officer for the campus, responsible for the management and assessment of a coherent campus-wide sustainability program. Principle areas of responsibility will involve developing and managing campus sustainability projects and initiatives; working with campus constituents on sustainability projects relating to campus operations; sustainability programming and outreach across campus and with the community; working with campus in the data collection and assessment of projects and initiatives; and working with faculty and staff through the Sustainability Working Group (SWG) and other governance groups. This position also has direct responsibility overseeing custodial operations in academic buildings. The position provides support in budget preparation and project development and oversight. The position reports to the Executive Director for Facilities Planning and Management. Work is performed under general supervision.
