Horticulture Society students gear up for annual flower/plant sale

UWRF Freshman Victoria Kyllo, of Stillwater, Minn., prepares floral arrangements for the Horticulture Society's Valentine's Day Sale. Sales begin today, Feb. 10, in the UC from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and again on Monday, Feb. 13, and Tuesday, Feb. 14. A variety of cut flowers, potted plants, and orchids are for sale ranging from a single rose, selling for $3.75, to a dozen red roses selling for $40. Summer registration begins Feb. 20



Summer 2012 registration will begin Monday, Feb. 20, and will continue up to the first day of the class you wish to register for.  Summer classes may be found at Class Schedule Lookup.  No appointments with advisors are needed to register for summer classes.







Correct date of CRSCA event
The date mentioned in yesterday's Falcon Daily for the CRSCA event honoring academic and creative output of UWRF faculty and staff was listed incorrectly. The correct date is Tuesday, March 27. Contact cate.dodson@uwrf.edu.

*  9 a.m.-3 p.m., UC, Horticulture Society:  Valentine's Day Flower/Plant Sale. A wide variety of floral arrangements, including roses, Gerbera daisies, irises, spray roses,  and more, as well as many beautiful potted plants, for sale. Sale also runs Monday and Tuesday next week.

*  Today through Saturday, March 3, Harriet Barry Gallery, Davee Library, Peace Corps Exhibit. Artifacts from several local Peace Corps volunteers. 2011 was the 50th anniversary of the Peace Corps. March 1 is National Peace Corps Day. Contact cate.dodson@uwrf.edu.

*  3 p.m., men's and women's track vs. Brooks Classic.

*  7-9 p.m., Falcon's Nest, UC, African Night. An evening of authentic African cuisine, African drumming and dance, fashion show, gift prizes, and music by DJ Intenz. Special guest features are Tiyumba Dance Company, performing traditional African dance; Shari Jeziorski, belly dance performing artist and Instructor; and "Bolanle" by Jummy Thomas, a guest fashion show designer.
