Announcements

W-2 general explanation knowledge base document available

Employee W-2 statements are available in the MyUW Portal, and hard copies have been mailed. We expect that this will prompt questions, especially since these are the first W-2 statements produced out of HRS. In order to assist you in answering questions, the HRS team has created a new Knowledge Base document, 'HRS Payroll - 2011 W-2 General Explanation.' You can find this document at https://kb.wisc.edu/hrs/page.php?id=21989. It highlights the revisions that have been made to the 2011 W-2 Wage and Tax Statement. In addition, it provides a comprehensive explanation of the 2011 W-2 form, including the value that corresponds to each box on the form.

Wellness Challenge

The Wellness Challenge 2012, which runs Feb. 6-March 4, is a free opportunity to improve your wellness in activity, nutrition, mental, relationships and health categories. Each week, participants will compete by completing activities for points. The Wellness Challenge allows students, staff and faculty to compete individually or in teams of 5-8 people. Each week points are earned by completing various activities from Monday-Sunday. At the end of each week, the individual and team with the most points will be rewarded a prize. There will also be a grand prize to the individual and team who receives the most points throughout the four-week challenge. Each week’s points must be entered on the Orgsync Points Log Form before the following Tuesday at noon to be eligible for the weekly prizes. Registration is now open. For more information, visit https://orgsync.com/20707/forms/show/27027 or contact cassandra.swenson@my.uwrf.edu.

Condolences

Please join the university community in extending our sincere condolences to the family of Walter Nottingham, emeritus art professor who died Jan. 26 in Hawaii after a brief illness. Walter began teaching at UWRF in 1962, where and colleagues helped create an art department as it exists today. He built an international reputation as a master weaver and fiber artist. He taught fibers at UWRF for 25 years. A memorial service may be held this summer. Donations can be made to the UWRF Foundation in his honor to the Walter and Lee Nottingham Scholarship Fund awarded to an art major for the junior or senior year, based upon academic excellence, creativity, and financial need.
