Senior exhibits featured in Gallery 101

An artist reception is from 4-7 p.m. today in Gallery 101 for two senior BFA  artists exhibiting their work in KFA. Austin Brigman's work is part visual journaling and part surreal composition, using drawings, acrylic paint, spray paint, ink and charcoal on found paper. Blurring the lines between decorative and functional pottery, Kelsey Anderson's forms vary from tiny owl figurines to 3 1/2 foot vases utilizing various methods of construction. The exhibit ends Nov. 10. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., Sunday 2-4 p.m. Photo by Jens Gunelson.

List of graduating seniors available
The List of Graduating Seniors for Fall 2010-11 is available at http://www.uwrf.edu/Registrar/CommencementInfo.cfm. This is a list of those students who will complete their degree requirements at the end of Fall 2010-11 and have applied for graduation. This is not a list of students participating in the Fall Commencement ceremony. The Registrar's Office will update this list weekly through Tuesday, Dec. 21. Contact Linda Matzek at 3342.

SCEDC seeks nominations for 2010 Business of the Year
The St. Croix Economic Development Corporation is accepting nominations through Dec. 10 for the 2010 Business of the Year awards program. The award program includes categories of  Emerging Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, and Business of the Year. Individuals or companies may nominate one or more businesses in any or all of the respective categories. Businesses are encouraged to nominate themselves. The winning companies will be honored at the St. Croix EDC awards banquet in February  2011. Visit http://www.stcroixedc.com for more information and nomination forms.

Grant opportunity:  campus reading seminars
The UW System Institute on Race and Ethnicity's Campus Reading Seminar grants support reading groups and scholarly exchanges on subjects dealing with race, ethnicity, diversity, equity, and inclusivity by making funds available for the purchase of books that focus on such themes. Participants in Campus Reading Seminars may include faculty members, academic and classified staff, students, and people from the community. A faculty or academic staff member must submit the proposal. The interdisciplinary composition and diversity of the participants foster intracampus and crossdisciplinary exchanges, stimulate curricular and pedagogical innovations, and encourage campus-community interaction. Upcoming Events          

Monday, Nov. 8, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., UC lobby, Care Package Drive for Troops. The Veteran's Club will have a table to accept donations for troops overseas. Suggested donations could include beef jerkey, protein bars, cereal bars, gum, pop tarts, nuts/trail mix, hygeine products, footballs, gatorade/other drink powder, dvds, coffee, laundry detergent, tooth paste, drink packets (single serving powder type), UWRF swag and munchies. Cash for mailing costs will also be accepted. The Club hopes to send the donations prior to the upcoming holiday season. Contact nicole.lillis@uwrf.edu.
