Unique art project springs up
UWRF students in the Studio Glass class were
recently assigned to create an artwork using glass multiples. The 23
students had to make or find glass parts that individually were rather
insignificant but when used as building blocks the students able to
transform them into a unified, single work of art. Some worked in
stained glass, some with fused or flame worked glass and others blew
glass. Above, student Nicholle Bethel designed and put up this wine
bottle fountain near KFA earlier this week as her response to the
assignment. Earlier in the semester, students completed a piece based
on body art and they will be completing two more works yet this
semester. One based on another artist and their final will relate in
some way to a movie. The class is taught by art Lecturer Charlotte
Roth. Photo by Jens Gunelson.
