Now you know
The St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra is in need of regular
and alternate players for all sections, especially strings. We are
growing, and looking for musicians that are proficient on their chosen
instrument and have experience playing in an orchestra.
Interested players should prepare one or two short pieces, 2 to 3
minutes each, which demonstrate musicality and technique. Auditions
will be held in early September.
Rehearsals are Monday nights in River Falls, beginning Sept. 14. The
season is from September to May and concerts are in the St. Croix
Valley including River Falls and Hudson, Wisconsin and Afton, Minn.
Concert dates are Oct. 22, Dec. 10, March 5, 8 and April 26 at Abbott
Concert Hall; Dec. 13 at Shepherd of the Valley Church in Afton; and
May 3 at Hudson Middle School.
Performances include four classical concerts, two holiday concerts and
a children’s education outreach concert.
The St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra, an affiliate of UWRF, is a
group of university students and community members under the leadership
of Kristin Tjornehoj.
