Out with the orange, in with the blue
All of the 300 orange seats in Davis Theatre,
KFA, were removed Tuesday to make way for new seating to be installed
August 7. The old seats, installed in 1973, will be replaced with 282
bluish seats which are wider and more comfortable. New carpet will
finish out the revamped theater. Some 100 of the old seats are being
reused by the River Falls Community Theatre. For information about
"naming rights" for the new seats, contact Robin Murray at ext. 3097 or

New Calendar of Events is now available
Posting an event is now as easy as reserving space; just
indicate the calendar to which your event should be posted. Calendars
include Academics, Administrative Meetings, Art Exhibits, Music,
Theatre and Dance, Alumni and Advancement Events, Featured Events and
Outreach, Athletics, Intramurals, and Student Events. Links to related
Web sites are also included (Commencement, Theatre Box Office, Falcon
Daily Archive, Falcon Features, Observatory, Planetarium, Athletics
Home Page, Intramurals and Recreation Home Page, Greek Life, Student
Life, Student Organizations, Campus Reservations, Maps, and Parking).
You may submit an event directly to a calendar, but if you need to
reserve
space, it will save you that extra step. All events have to be approved
by the calendar manager before being posted. The Calendar will feed its
events to Falcon Daily. Notices that are not calendar events but are
general information items will be submitted to
Falcon Daily by a separate form, similar to the current Falcon Daily
form.
Advantages:
* One step to reserve space, put your event on the Calendar, and post
your notice to Falcon Daily.
* You can use the Calendar filters to view calendars or event types
according to your preference.
* You can include a detailed description, an image, or a link to a
document.
* You can subscribe to email notifications of events or capture RSS
feeds for various calendars.
The new Calendar of Events appears on the university home page where
the current General Events Calendar is located. Links will take you to
the Calendar or to a page explaining how to submit an event. Watch
Falcon Daily for updates and calendar tips. Contact kathleen.drecktrah@uwrf.edu.
