Now you know
The UWRF Journalism Department has received a
$2,730 educational support grant from the Wisconsin Broadcasters
Association Foundation.
The grant will be used to purchase three digital video news kits for
use by UWRF journalism students. Each kit includes a mini-DV camcorder,
shotgun microphone, headphones, tripod and shoulder bag. Since 2003,
UWRF’s journalism program has received five grants totaling $11,400
from WBA.

Chiefs arrive Thursday for 19th training camp
The Kansas City Chiefs will arrive on Thursday,
July 30, to begin their 19th summer training camp at UWRF. The team is
under new command as Head Coach Todd Haley takes the reigns. Their
first practice is set for 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, followed by the
annual Punt, Pass and Kick Competition at noon for children ages 8 -
13. An afternoon practice follows from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. New this year
is an alternating practice schedule. In past camps, the Chiefs
practiced twice a day, everyday. This year, however, the team will
alternate between one practice per day and two practices per day.
Family Fun Day will take place on Saturday, Aug. 8. For more

Classified Earning Statements
Classified Earning Statements are late getting out this week due to the
eSIS upgrade. They will be emailed out as soon as they are available,

UW-System libraries Universal Borrowing service
unavailable
Due to a system upgrade, the UW-System libraries Universal Borrowing
service is unavailable through Aug. 16. During this time, materials not
held by UWRF may be requested using the Interlibrary Loan service. For
additional assistance, contact interlibraryloan@uwrf.edu

Online survey: What is your opinion of uwrf.edu?
The UWRF Website Redesign team will launch an online evaluation survey
tomorrow. Each visitor to the campus home page will be prompted to
anonymously evaluate his or her experience using uwrf.edu. The results
of the survey will be used to assist with the redesigning the
University’s Web site. Survey results will be posted in the coming
weeks at http://www.uwrf.edu/webhelp/redesignPhase2/.
Diverse workforce nominations sought; due Aug. 1
The State Council on Affirmative Action has made available two awards
for recognition of individuals and programs that encourage the
recruitment, retention and promotion of a diverse workforce. Please
submit nominations using the candidate information found at http://www.uwrf.edu/inclusiveness/awardsrecognition.html
by Aug. 1 to Craig Morris, Room 117, North Hall. The first of these
awards is named after former Chancellor Ann Lydecker, and is intended
to recognize the achievements of individuals. The second award is the
Diversity award, and is intended to recognize the achievements of

Academic renewal conference is Oct. 1-3 in Minneapolis
The next in a series of academic renewal conferences sponsored by
AAC&U will be held in Minneapolis Oct. 1-3. The conference theme is
"Educating for Personal and Social Responsibility: Deepening Student
and Campus Commitments." The American Democracy Project at UWRF is
dedicated to forming and sponsoring a campus delegation to participate
in this outstanding professional development opportunity. If you are
