Speaker spreads awareness of Islamic faith

Yusef Soussi discussed what the word "Islam" means and different aspects of the Muslim faith during a presentation Monday night on campus sponsored by the Multicultural Student Services and Muslim Student Association. Kay Corey is new dean assistant in COEPS
Kay Corey is the new dean assistant for the College of Education and Professional Studies. Kay has worked at UW-River Falls for eight years. Retirement reception for Deb Wros
Please join us to say farewell and best wishes to Deb Wros as she retires from UWRF after 36 years of service. Deb has supported various departments across campus including:  Accounting, Financial Aid, and Dining Services. The celebration is Thursday, Feb 18, from 3-4:30 p.m. in the Falls Room, UC. The celebration will continue at Junior's starting at 5 p.m.

DoTS evaluating campus printing
DoTS is currently evaluating different methods of gaining efficiencies and reducing costs for campus printing. On February 12, 17 and 18, we will be around campus validating inventory and gathering information. We will be communicating and discussing more, with all departments, after we complete our initial evaluation. We appreciate your cooperation.

CPR classes offered
Three CPR classes will be offered to UWRF faculty, staff and students. At this point class fees are covered by the Risk Management training budget but there may be a potential for a small charge if we register over 12 people per class and have to hire additional trainers. *  Heart Saver AED/CPR Training, Wednesday, Feb. 17, 8:30-11:30 a.m., St. Croix River Room, UC.
*  Heart Saver AED/CPR Training, Wednesday, Feb. 24, 5:30-8:30 p.m., 129 RDI.
Description:  Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED is a classroom course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives.
*  Healthcare Provider Training (CPR and First Aid), Wednesday, March 23, 5:30-9:30 p.m., 129 RDI.
Description:  Healthcare Provider Training is approved by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services as fulfilling the requirements for Camps and Clinics Health Care Supervisor and Staff per DHS 175.19. If you run a camp and clinic over the summer, this is the course for you and you staff.

Employee Worksite Wellness Survey
The UWRF Health and Wellness Council is conducting an online worksite wellness survey designed to assess UWRF employee’s behaviors and opinions about physical activity, nutrition, smoking, stress, and sleep habits in order to gain more information about possible resources and support for UWRF employees. This project has been approved by the UW-River Falls Institutional Research Board for the Protection of Human Subjects, protocol # W2016 - T006. Check your Feb. 3 campus email for the survey and we encourage you to complete the survey if you have not already done so. Only group level data will be looked at and reported.
