International football tournament held on campus

Old phone recycling update
Starting today, Dec. 7, boxes will be placed at a location in each building for you to drop off your old phones. We need to have all phones and phone cables placed in these boxes before Friday, Dec. 11. If you have shared phones in labs or other spaces, or if you know a colleague is out, please put their phones in the box, too. We greatly appreciate your assistance. Falcon Dollars

Effective Jan. 1, 2016, Dining Services will no longer be able to offer a 5% discount with the use of Falcon Dollars. Falcon Dollars will continue to be accepted at all dining locations and can still be purchased either online or at the Campus Information Desk for your convenience.

Art Scholarship Sale end Wednesday

Wednesday, Dec. 9, is the last day for the Annual Art Scholarship Sale in Gallery 101, KFA.  If you haven’t had a chance to purchase something unique for yourself or someone else, please stop by and choose from an incredible selection of handmade artwork. Most importantly, 35% of all proceeds will go towards scholarships, student run Art Society and the visiting artist fund. Gallery hours Monday-Wednesday are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. For more information, call the Art Department at 3266.

Falcon Band Concert:  “T’was (Almost) the Night Before Finals," Tuesday, Dec. 8, 7:30 p.m., Abbott Concert Hall, KFA. In addition to old favorites, the UWRF Music Department's Jazz/Rock Production Ensemble will be playing some more-involved and new arrangements. Includes music by Billy Cobham, Ornette Coleman, Herbie Hancock, Joe Sample, Mike Stern, and more. Free and open to all.

Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead,” Tuesday, Dec. 8, 7:30 p.m., Syse Theatre, KFA. Masquers production of Bert V. Royal's "unauthorized parody." The play imagines characters from the popular comic strip Peanuts as teenagers. Drug use, suicide, eating disorders, teen violence, rebellion, sexual relations and identity are among the issues covered in this drama performed in the Syse Theatre. Adult content. Admission is $10/adult, $8/age 65+, UWRF students get one free ticket with Falcon ID. Additional performances are Dec. 9-12.

Astronomy Talk & Observatory ViewingWednesday, Dec. 9, 8 p.m., 271 CSH. "Christmas in Summer, Southern Hemisphere Constellations," an astronomy talk given by physics Professor Eileen Korenic, followed by observatory viewing if the night sky is clear enough. Art Scholarship Sale, through Wednesday, Dec. 9, Gallery 101, KFA. Choose from a wide selection of studio arts including glass, ceramics, painting, fibers, printmaking, photography and mixed media made by current art students and faculty, alumni, retired faculty and local artisans. Gallery hours are Monday-Wednesday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Open to all.

“The Dam Decision” film exhibition, 7 p.m., Falls Theatre, River Falls. The short is Stage and Screen Arts senior Sydney Howell’s documentary on the debate to keep or remove the two hydroelectric dams on the Kinnickinnic River in River Falls. Free admission and discussion following the premier.
