Dog decoy silhouettes not deterring geese at Ramer Field

[cid:62298131-07EE-4D88-8667-8E6BD39D9CD3]

A flock of geese rest by one of the new retention ponds by Knowles Center out at Ramer Field. Cutouts of dogs, seen on the far side of this pond were placed nearby three weeks ago to act as a deterrent to keep the geese and their waste off the athletic and recreation fields. Joe McIntosh, supervisor with grounds maintenance, said, "They worked pretty well for the first week or so but I think the geese are wising up a little as they are starting to return to the site." The dog decoy silhouettes, made by Watch Dog Goose Patrol, are made of weather-resistant, light-weight plastic assembled on steel springs. Photo by Hailey Smith.
