Nominations for Chancellor’s recognition awards for university and academic staff
Honoring outstanding service to the university is an important UW-River Falls tradition. Nominations for the Chancellor’s Recognition Award for University Staff and the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence for Academic Staff are being accepted through Friday, Sept. 25. Details of the nomination process can be found at http://www.uwrf.edu/awards/. The announcement of the recipients of the awards will be made this fall. Upcoming Events

Please join us to celebrate the new home of the McNair Scholars Program at an Open House Thursday, Sept. 10, from noon-3 p.m. in 140 Hagestad Hall. “Among the Trees,” a collection of photographs by Professor Charles Rader, Geography and Mapping Sciences, is on display in the Harriet Barry Gallery through the month of September. The gallery is open during regular library hours<http://www.uwrf.edu/Library/Hours.cfm>. A reception will be held on Thursday, Sept. 10, from 4-6 p.m., with a gallery discussion at 5 p.m.

Karate at UWRF begins its fall session with free karate classes for UWRF faculty, students, children age of 7 and older, and adult community members, Thursday, Sept. 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Aerobics Room in the Emogene Nelson Building. This will be an introductory lesson to traditional Shotokan karate with demonstration by the teachers and participation by those attending.

Falcon Rodeo pre-show tickets (save $2) can be purchased in Ag Science or the UC today through Sept. 10 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The 51st Annual Falcon Frontier Days Rodeo is Friday and Saturday, Sept. 11-12, at the Campus Farm, corner of S. Wasson Lane and Cemetery Road. Friday’s performance is at 7 p.m. Saturday’s performances are at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Ticket prices at the gate are $12/adults, $8/children age 5 and up, $8/UWRF students, children age 4 and under are free.
