UWRF students, others take Polar Plunge

Stephanie Strohbeen, president of Collegiate Honors Club; Emily Sirek, vice president  of Collegiate Honors Club; Kathleen Hunzer and Katy Maas of the Falcon Scholars, Chancellor's Scholars, and Honors programs office take the plunge into Lake Menomonie at Elk Point Resort during Polar Plunge 2015, the winter fundraiser for Special Olympics. The group raised $825. Also taking the plunge from UW-River Falls were members representing athletics teams. The team raised $2,559. The new director of the McNair Scholars Program, Natalie Strobach, did her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature at the University of California Davis and specializes in 19th and 20th century French and German literature and psychoanalysis. In addition to her work in comparative literature, Natalie was herself a McNair Scholar as an undergraduate and also held a joint appointment for six years with the UC Davis McNair Scholars Program. Seeking UWRF Ebert & Gerbert’s sandwich custom recipe submissions
Students, faculty, and staff have a one-time opportunity to create an Erbert and Gerbert’s (E&G) sandwich to be put exclusively on the UWRF menu. Classified Staff Advisory Council meeting Thursday
The Classified Staff Advisory Council will meet on Thursday, Feb. 12, from 1-2 p.m. in the Alumni Room, South Hall. A draft of the Complaint Policy for the new University Personnel System will be reviewed at this meeting. All classified staff are encouraged to attend to provide feedback.
