Affordable Care Act and health insurance enrollment
Please help spread the word! As most persons are aware, the federal Affordable Care Act requires most individuals to have health insurance. The Health Insurance Marketplace helps uninsured people enroll in health coverage. Enrollment in the 2015 Marketplace began on Nov. 15, 2014. Individuals may find they qualify for state Medicaid such as Badgercare in Wisconsin.
There are two upcoming Affordable Care Act information and enrollment sessions in River Falls:
* Wednesday, Jan. 28, River Falls Community Connect Event at First Congregational Church, River Falls (110 North 3rd Street) from 2-7 p.m. (information and/or enrollment).
* Tuesday, Feb. 3, River Falls Public Library (140 Union Street) from 5-6 p.m. information session and from 5-8 p.m. enrollment session.
Individuals without health insurance can go to one of these information/enrollment sessions or visit http://www.healthcare.gov/ to learn more about how to enroll in a health insurance plan to avoid possible penalty fines in the future.
