"If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people." -- Chinese proverb

Not your usual picnic fare at club gathering

Members of the Crops and Soils Club were treated to a surprise Brazilian feast Wednesday outside Ag Science. Club officers, Advisor Bill Anderson, and three Brazilian students/chefs conspired to keep it a secret until the meeting. When club members arrived expecting the usual picnic with hot dogs, they were surprised with a Brazilian inspired menu, including marinated grilled chicken, New York Strip steak, garden-fresh green salads and Brazilian rice, Farofa of Cassava, and Brigadeiro's for dessert. Many of the Brazilian students currently on campus are interested in agronomy and have been active in the club. Submitted photo.
