   Curtis joins Athletic Department
Please welcome Jessica Curtis to the Athletic Department. Jessica began her position as a university program assistant on July 21. She provides support for the Falcon Athletic Department administration and all 16 intercollegiate sports. She helps coordinate student-athlete eligibility, team travel, schedule contracts, the Falcon Club and student payroll. She previously worked at WESTconsin Titling Services and WESTconsin Credit Union. A 2012 UWRF graduate, she worked as a marketing intern with campus Recreation and as an intern with the NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers sales and client development department. She is located in 123 Hagestad Hall and can be reached at 3900.

Bad smell across campus this morning
The grease pit at the UC is being pumped out today causing a bad smell across campus. It's anticipated to be done sometime before lunch. Thanks for your patience.

DoTS no longer serving campus from Hagestad Hall
The Division of Technology Services (DoTS) is now ready to serve you from our renovated, one-stop Service Center location in the lower level of Davee Library. We will no longer be serving campus from our Hagestad Hall location as of today, Aug. 14. All technology walk-up support as well as any ID carding assistance will be provided out of our Service Center in the library. Thank you for your patience and understanding during renovations this summer. We’re here to help you over summer from 7:45 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. We will be open extended hours for new student residence hall move-in over Labor Day weekend. For fall semester, our Service Center in 160 Davee Library will be open from 7:30 a.m.-10 p.m. for support Monday-Friday and weekends from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. regular hours starting the first day of classes, Sept. 3.

Bear sightings in River Falls
Police took three calls yesterday, Aug. 13, about bear sightings within the city limits, all on the southeast side. None of the encounters involved aggression by the bears, according to the Police Department. Opening Week events begin August 25

Please join us for Opening Week events to celebrate the beginning of the 2014 fall semester. Now You Know

The National Science Foundation has awarded UWRF $299,617 under the Robert Noyce Scholarship Program. The prestigious grant will be used to create a new graduate certificate program that prepares science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professionals to become math and science educators in middle schools and high schools.
