The Falcon women's hockey team hoists high the O'Brien Cup and the inaugural WIAC tournament championship plaque Saturday after defeating UW-Stevens Point 5-1 at Hunt Arena. The team learned this morning that they have earned a berth to the NCAA Championships and will host Lake Forest College on Saturday, March 15, at Hunt Arena. Game time will be announced later today. “This is our sixth year making the tourney which says a lot about our program and student-athletes,” said Falcon Coach Joe Cranston. “It’s exciting to be hosting a NCAA Tournament game and It will be fun to play Lake Forest since we had a great NCHA rivalry with them. They have a great program and it should be a great game." The Falcons earned one of eight spots into the championships and enter Saturday's game with a 21-4-3 overall record.
