Chancellor’s Student Ambassador group accepting applications

The Chancellor’s Student Ambassador (CSA) group is accepting applications for the 2015-16 academic year. If you know of students who are looking to join a student leadership organization on campus or of student leaders who you think would be interested in joining this group, please encourage them to apply. Many previous CSA’s applied because they were recommended by a faculty or staff member. The deadline to apply is Monday, April 13. Women & Science Program spring conference

Please join the UW System Women & Science Program at the Kalahari in Wisconsin Dells for our 2015 Spring Conference May 18-19. The Women & Science Program will pay for your hotel room and meals. Your deans expect to cover the cost of a fleet vehicle or reimburse you for your mileage. He will lead faculty, staff, and students in a workshop designed to inform and prepare all types of educators for their work with Somali and Muslim students in schools and communities. Seminar on Chronic Wasting Disease Transmission, 3-5 p.m., 200 Ag Science. Christina Carlson, postdoctoral fellow with the U.S. Geological Survey National Wildlife Health Center in Madison, will present “Environmental Prion Transmission: Identifying Novel Disease Dissemination Routes.” She will describe her research on Chronic Wasting Disease, the only prion disease known to affect free-ranging wildlife. After the seminar, she will hold an informational session for students on the graduate experience in the sciences at a large research university, and scientific careers with government agencies like the USGS.
