'Year of' series continues
The UWRF International Programs Committee has selected Brazil as the country of focus for the year of 2016-17. Thanks to all who participated in the survey to choose the country for that year. The committee received 131 nominations. As we look forward to the Year of China in 2014-15, Mexico in 2015-16 and Brazil in 2016-17, we hope you will consider ways you can be involved in raising awareness of these and other countries to help meet the UWRF strategic goal of Global Education and Engagement. Falcon Foods brats and smoked turkeys for sale
Varieties of brats are wild rice, bacon and bleu cheese, garden pepper (medium heat), green pepper and cheddar cheese, and regular. There are a few smoked turkeys for sale also. Brats start at $4/pound. Contact [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.

Freddy's C-store closed May 18-21
Freddy’s C-store in the UC will be closed May 18-21 due to maintenance and will re-open Thursday, May 22, at 7:45 a.m. and remain open until 2 p.m. that day.

Thursday brat cart opens May 29
The brat cart on the UC mall will open on Thursday, May 29, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and continue to be open every Thursday through Aug. 28.

Falcon Daily summer schedule
Falcon Daily will begin its summer publication schedule next week. It will only publish on Tuesday and Thursday mornings throughout the summer, beginning Tuesday, May 20. Please plan accordingly.
Upcoming Events

Wednesday, May 14, 10-11 a.m., Falls Room, UC, Open Campus Forum:  WiSys issues of research and economic development. Arjun Sanga, executive director of WiSys Technology Foundation, and David J. Ward, chair of WiSys Technology Foundation, will meet with the campus community on issues of research and economic development. Those in attendance will learn more about WiSys’ efforts to support research and technology development, link campus innovators with industry leaders, and speed technology transfer through patent and licensing activities.

*  4-5 p.m., Riverview Ballroom, UC, Leadership Series/The Role of Fundraising in Leadership. Significant charitable gifts transform universities, they also come with risk. Chris Mueller, assistant  chancellor for University Advancement, will lead us in a discussion about the role of fundraising in the life and growth of a university, and the elements that must be present for donors to make significant gifts.
