Annual Benefits Enrollment (ABE) ends Friday

If you require changes to your benefits for 2016 they must be submitted via My UW System by 4:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 30. SECC Statewide Campaign open through Nov. 30

The SECC Statewide is a workplace giving campaign that offers you the opportunity to donate to one or more of the more than 400 charities that participate via payroll contribution, credit card, check, or cash.

Not sure how much to give?  See what several dollars a month can do:

$2 per month provide supplies for an Earth Day project—planting a tree or buying gloves for volunteers who do trail clean-up (Community Shares).

$10 per month provides lifesaving medications for 500 new mothers in Bangladesh (Neighbor to Nation).

Condolences



Please join the university community in extending our sincere condolences to the family of Robert (Bob) Pionke. Bob, age 82, died Oct. 13 in Marietta, Ga. Bob was a professor of sociology and criminal justice at UWRF from 1963-1995. Upcoming Events



Halloween in the Halls, Wednesday, Oct. 28, 5-7 p.m., activities vary by hall, but include door-to-door trick-or-treating, refreshments and/or activities such as pumpkin painting and cookie decorating. An adult must accompany children inside the residence halls. Letters went out to area elementary schools inviting 4K-grade 5 children to the residence halls. Haunted Pavilion, Thursday, Oct. 29, 7-9:30 p.m., Campus Farm, 1475 S. Wasson Lane. Lights on 7-8 p.m., lights off from 8-9:30 p.m. Admission is $2/person or 2 non-perishable food items. All proceeds donated to the River Falls Food Pantry. Presented by the UWRF Dairy Club. Open to all.



University Theatre:  “The Spitfire Grill,” Oct. 29-31 and Nov. 5-7, 7:30 p.m., Davis Theatre, KFA. An American musical based on the 1996 film by Lee David Zlotoff depicting the journey of a young woman just released from prison who starts her new life in a rural Wisconsin town. Grimm Haunted Hall, Saturday, Oct. 31, 8-10 p.m. Experience this year’s scary/horror movie theme (not suitable for children) for a $2 entry OR non-perishable food/hygiene product donation. Donations will be given to Turning Point, a local charity for victims of domestic and sexual violence. Open to everyone. A collaboration between Grimm and McMillan halls. Fall Etiquette Dinner, Tuesday, Nov. 3, 5:30-7:30 p.m., Riverview Ballroom, UC. To reserve your ticket, stop by Career Services, 211 Hagestad Hall. The cost to attend this five-course meal, which includes training on proper dining etiquette is $15, or $9 if using the meal plan. Falcon and Dining Dollars are accepted as a form of payment as well as check or cash. The deadline to reserve a ticket is Wednesday, Oct. 28. Shop@UW staff from UW-Madison are on campus to host three feedback and training sessions and gather input from anyone who has used Shop@UW and may have questions and concerns. This is also a good time to get initial or refresher training. Please bring examples of issues with you for a more productive session.
