Students and employers connect at Career Fair

Open Forums for Assistant Director of Student Conduct and Community Standards Candidates
The three finalists for the position of Assistant Director of Student Conduct and Community Standards will interview on campus next week. The campus community is invited to meet each of the finalists during the open forums listed below. All open forums will run from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m.:
* Monday, Oct. 20, Maryne Taute, Trimbelle River Room, UC
* Wednesday, Oct. 22, Andrea Fults, St. Croix River Room, UC
* Friday, Oct. 24, Alisha Slowey, Trimbelle River Room, UC

Reminder of Employee Campus Flu Shot Clinic
The campus flu shot clinic for UWRF faculty and staff will be held Tuesday, Oct. 21, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. (corrected time) in Room 232, UC (provided in collaboration with Vibrant Health Family Clinics). * New Venture Competition Kick-off Event, 3 p.m., South Hall Alumni Room. The mission of the New Venture Competition is to encourage an entrepreneurial spirit among UWRF students and faculty, develop external funding, and identify campus participants for the Wisconsin Big Idea Tournament. * Year of China Book Discussion Series, 4-5 p.m., Davee Library breezeway. Alex Hatheway, UWRF instructor in the English Language Transition Program and liaison to the students from the Zhejiang International Studies University (ZISU), will lead a discussion of Han Han's "This Generation: Dispatches from China's Most Popular Literary Star (and Race Car Driver)." Free and open to everyone.

* Symphony Band/University Band Concert, 7:30 p.m., Abbott Concert Hall, KFA. Music by Percy Grainger, John Philip Sousa, Jose Rafael Pascual Vilaplana, Gregory Fritz and more. Special guest Ivan Konev plays music from Claire de Lune by Claude Debussy and Toccatina by Nikolai Kapustin. Admission is $5/adults, $3/seniors, and $2/students. * Masquers Student Theatre:  "Reckless," 7:30 p.m., Blanche Davis Theatre, KFA. The story of Rachel, a stay-at-home mother who finds herself homeless on Christmas Eve. With the help of a friendly stranger, Lloyd, she searches for her place in the world. Tickets are $10/adults, $8/seniors and $5/students. Call the Box Office at 3114.
