RE: Off-Campus, University-Sanctioned Event
FROM: CPT Jeremie Hannah
The UWRF – ARMY ROTC Department is sponsoring an off-campus activity and a student in your course might miss class time. The offices of the Provost and the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs require that students provide this notice to you no later than one week prior to their scheduled activity to be in compliance with appropriate policies. Your consideration in allowing them to complete course assignments and work in compliance with these university’s policies* is appreciated. Thank you for your support and cooperation. Additional details are below.
Dates & Times (“activities should not be scheduled during the final exam period or one week prior to final examinations”): We will be leaving 5 October 2017, 09:30, Thursday morning and returning Thursday evening.
Activity: Training at UW – Stout for Leaders Training Exercise with ROTC Departments from Universities of Eau Claire and Stout, these are our partner schools. We will be doing the high ropes course, along with various sporting activities to build camaraderie within our program at the three schools.
Academic Rationale for Absence: Students will be doing military training with our partner schools that will help build camaraderie among our program. They will be put in leadership positions to train and lead other cadets and learn valuable leadership skills. This will also enable then to learn to work with new members of a team.
