RE:  Off-Campus, University-Sanctioned Event

The Career Services Department is sponsoring an off-campus activity and a student in your course might miss class time.  The offices of the Provost and the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs require that students provide this notice to you no later than one week prior to their scheduled activity to be in compliance with appropriate policies.  Your consideration in allowing them to complete course assignments and work in compliance with these university’s policies* is appreciated.  Thank you for your support and cooperation.  Additional details are below.
Dates & Times (“activities should not be scheduled during the final exam period or one week prior to final examinations”): Event runs from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM at the University of Minnesota.  Students may be leaving by 9:30 AM and returning around 3:30 PM depending on the timeframe that they attend the event.
Activity: Minnesota Government and Nonprofit Career Fair, October 28th, 10:00 AM-3:00 PM.  University of Minnesota-Coffman Memorial Union, University of Minnesota

Academic Rationale for Absence: Free event for UWRF students and alumni.  This event is a great opportunity for students and alumni to meet with government and nonprofit agencies regarding internships and professional positions.  There are also three presentations hosted at the event regarding careers in the government/nonprofit sectors.
