The Agricultural Economics Department is sponsoring an off-campus activity and a student in your course might miss class time.  The offices of the Provost and the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs require that students provide this notice to you no later than one week prior to their scheduled activity to be in compliance with appropriate policies.  Your consideration in allowing them to complete course assignments and work in compliance with these university’s policies* is appreciated.  Thank you for your support and cooperation. Activity: September 13-14, AFA Leaders Conference Planning Meeting, Kansas City, MO; September 27-28, 119th American Royal Scholars Conference, Kansas City, MO;  October 8, AFA Leaders Conference Planning Meeting, Kansas City, MO.
Academic Rationale for Absence: Jared Retzlaff was chosen to be on the AFA Leadership Committee, which is a group of students that help plan and implement the annual AFA Collegiate Leadership Conference in Kansas City.  This is the premier leadership development conference for agricultural students in North America.  Jared was also selected as a recipient of the Seaboard American Royal Scholarship and must attend this conference to receive that scholarship.
