RE: Off-Campus, University-Sanctioned Event
FROM: Rich Wallace - Sociology, Criminology, & Anthropology
The Sociology, Criminology, & Anthropology Department is sponsoring an off-campus activity and a student in your course might miss class time. The offices of the Provost and the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs require that students provide this notice to you no later than one week prior to their scheduled activity to be in compliance with appropriate policies. Your consideration in allowing them to complete course assignments and work in compliance with these university's policies* is appreciated. Thank you for your support and cooperation. Additional details are below.
Dates & Times ("activities should not be scheduled during the final exam period or one week prior to final examinations"): Departing the 6th of March @ 6.05am
Returning the 18th of March @ 11.10pm
Activity: Belize Study Tour, time on site in Belize as a part of ANTH 395/ SOCI 395
Academic Rationale for Absence: The Belize Study Tour provides students with the opportunity to understand and experience first-hand how Belize conserves the diversity of its natural environment while supporting the needs of its people. All of the students on the list are signed up for ANTH/SOCI 395 - Belize Study Tour, and the program is an approved UWRF study abroad experience.
