The Health and Human Performance Department is sponsoring an off-campus activity and a student in your course might miss class time.  The offices of the Provost and the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs require that students provide this notice to you no later than one week prior to their scheduled activity to be in compliance with appropriate policies.  Your consideration in allowing them to complete course assignments and work in compliance with these university’s policies* is appreciated.  Thank you for your support and cooperation. Dates & Times: 8am on Thursday, April 26th to 6pm on Friday, April 27th
Activity: Backpack/Canoe trip on the St. Croix River near Grantsburg, WI
Academic Rationale for Absence: PED 201- Outdoor Education: Summer Concepts and Skills focuses on providing students with skills and experiences for their own personal health and wellness in addition to equipping them to teach these skills and provide these experiences to future students and clients. The overnight backpack/canoe trip is the culminating experience of this course and is formally assessed.
