RE:  Off-Campus, University-Sanctioned Event

The Agricultural Economics Department is sponsoring an off-campus activity and a student in your course might miss class time.  The offices of the Provost and the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs require that students provide this notice to you no later than one week prior to their scheduled activity to be in compliance with appropriate policies.  Your consideration in allowing them to complete course assignments and work in compliance with these university’s policies* is appreciated.  Thank you for your support and cooperation. Dates & Times (“activities should not be scheduled during the final exam period or one week prior to final examinations”): April 6 to April 11
Activity: Ag Futures of America (AFA) Campus Ambassador Training and AFA Animal Institute in Kansas City, MO
Academic Rationale for Absence: AFA provides a number of leadership and topical conferences each year.  The organization has awarded UWRF a campus ambassador to facilitate our students’ participation in these events.  The Ambassador training program will provide Jared with leadership and organizational skills.   The Animal institute focuses on issues facing animal agriculture and will enable Jared to understand current issues, career options and to build a network of industry leaders.
