The Agricultural Economics Department is sponsoring an off-campus activity and a student in your course might miss class time.  The offices of the Provost and the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs require that students provide this notice to you no later than one week prior to their scheduled activity to be in compliance with appropriate policies.  Your consideration in allowing them to complete course assignments and work in compliance with these university’s policies* is appreciated.  Thank you for your support and cooperation. Activity: Collegiate Co-ops Conference in Minneapolis, MN
Academic Rationale for Absence: The Collegiate Cooperatives Conference is co-sponsored by CHS, the nation’s largest cooperative, and the National Farmers Union.  It is the largest conference for college students focused on cooperatives, which are major employers of CAFES graduates.  This conference will provide our participants, Cassandra Borgardt and Hallie Kopczynski with both educational workshops on cooperatives and an opportunity to build their professional network.  They will be exposed to a broad array of cooperatives and career opportunities in this conference, which may lead to internships or offers of employment.
