The Political Science Department is sponsoring an off-campus activity and a student in your course might miss class time.  The offices of the Provost and the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs require that students provide this notice to you no later than one week prior to their scheduled activity to be in compliance with appropriate policies.  Your consideration in allowing them to complete course assignments and work in compliance with these university’s policies* is appreciated.  Thank you for your support and cooperation. Dates & Times (“activities should not be scheduled during the final exam period or one week prior to final examinations”): Thursday, April 12, about 2:00 p.m., returning Sunday, April 16, at about 2:00 p.m.
Activity: Arrowhead Model United Nations Conference
Academic Rationale for Absence: The students are conducting research on several countries and numerous international issues.  They will represent Austria and Germany on committee’s simulating the United Nations’ General Assembly and Security Council.  These activities are relevant to the study of both comparative politics and international relations.  Additional conference information is available at http://www.arrowheadmun.org/.
