announcement: Approved 3.15.18
TO: UWRF Colleagues
RE: Off-Campus, University-Sanctioned Event
FROM: Dr. Lissa Schneider-Rebozo, URSCA Office
The URSCA Office is sponsoring an off-campus activity and a student in your course might miss class time. The offices of the Provost and the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs require that students provide this notice to you no later than one week prior to their scheduled activity to be in compliance with appropriate policies. Your consideration in allowing them to complete course assignments and work in compliance with these university’s policies* is appreciated. Thank you for your support and cooperation. Additional details are below.
Dates & Times (“activities should not be scheduled during the final exam period or one week prior to final examinations”): April 4th, 2018 at 8 a.m. through April 8th, 2018 (all day).
Activity: Undergraduates will present their research posters/projects at the 32nd Annual National Conference on Undergraduate Research at the University of Central Oklahoma, located in Edmond, OK.
Academic Rationale for Absence: : The National Conference for Undergraduate Research (NCUR) is important to the student’s professional development as well as an opportunity to present their research and connect with other scholars in and out of their field. NCUR is a great opportunity to showcase the talents of our students, and meet students from across the United States by sharing their research posters and experiences with their peers and mentors. It is a unique opportunity to share with one another the value and importance of undergraduate research by talking directly with the fellow undergraduate researchers whom desire to make an impact.
