The Animal and Food Science Department is sponsoring an off-campus activity and a student in your course might miss class time.  The offices of the Provost and the Associate Vice Chancellor require that students provide this notice to you no later than one week prior to their scheduled activity to be in compliance with appropriate policies.  Your consideration in allowing them to complete course assignments and work in compliance with these university’s policies* is appreciated.  Thank you for your support and cooperation. Activity: Cargill Animal Nutrition Research Facility, Elk River, MN
Academic Rationale for Absence: This is a fantastic opportunity for our senior level Dairy Nutrition students to tour a nutrition research facility. Cargill is a worldwide provider of nutrition products and feed analysis to dairy farms worldwide. Students will see cutting edge technology and research that provides transparency to the world of nutrition research. The tour will also cover the benefits of interdisciplinary discussion and tips on professionalism in their future workplace.
