The Health and Human Performance Department is sponsoring an off-campus activity and a student in your course might miss class time.  The offices of the Provost and the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs require that students provide this notice to you no later than one week prior to their scheduled activity to be in compliance with appropriate policies.  Your consideration in allowing them to complete course assignments and work in compliance with these university’s policies* is appreciated.  Thank you for your support and cooperation. Dates & Times: Thursday, April 12th from 8am-6pm (including travel time)
Activity: Rock climbing at Interstate State Park
Academic Rationale for Absence: PED 201- Outdoor Education: Summer Concepts and Skills focuses on providing students with skills and experiences for their own personal health and wellness in addition to equipping them to teach these skills and provide these experiences to future students and clients. Students prepare their belay and climbing skills at the indoor wall at the Falcon Center and then apply these skills to an outdoor setting at Interstate State Park.
