The Plant and Earth Science Department is sponsoring an off-campus activity and a student in your course might miss class time.  The offices of the Provost and the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs require that students provide this notice to you no later than one week prior to their scheduled activity to be in compliance with appropriate policies.  Your consideration in allowing them to complete course assignments and work in compliance with these university’s policies* is appreciated.  Thank you for your support and cooperation. Dates & Times (“activities should not be scheduled during the final exam period or one week prior to final examinations”): Thursday April 13, 2017 from noon to 5PM
Activity: Field trip for the Plant Tissue Culture (HORT369) course to a commercial tissue culture lab in Plymouth, MN and to the Univ. of Minnesota Twin Cities Campus to look at and compare labs and practices at a private lab and research labs.
Academic Rationale for Absence: Students can put into context the commercial and research applications of the principles and practices we are learning in lecture and doing in our hands-on weekly labs.
