RE: Off-Campus, University-Sanctioned Event

The Plant and Earth Science Department is sponsoring an off-campus activity and a student in your course might miss class time. The offices of the Provost and the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs require that students provide this notice to you no later than one week prior to their scheduled activity to be in compliance with appropriate policies. Your consideration in allowing them to complete course assignments and work in compliance with these university’s policies* is appreciated. Thank you for your support and cooperation. Additional details are below.
Dates & Times (“activities should not be scheduled during the final exam period or one week prior to final examinations”): Depart from Agricultural Science Building at 8:00am on 17 October 2016, return to Agriculture Science Building at 4:00pm on 19 October 2016.
Activity: 2016 Upper Midwest Invasive Species Conference, La Crosse, WI.
Academic Rationale for Absence: Crystal will be presenting the research she conducted this past summer to experts and professionals at this conference. She will also be networking with professionals in the field.
