The ART Department is sponsoring an off-campus activity and a student in your course might miss class time. The offices of the Provost and the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs require that students provide this notice to you no later than one week prior to their scheduled activity to be in compliance with appropriate policies. Your consideration in allowing them to complete course assignments and work in compliance with these university’s policies* is appreciated. Thank you for your support and cooperation. Activity: Field trip to the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis
Academic Rationale for Absence: Students from the courses CAS 101/First Year Adventure and ART 330: Studio Drawing will gain first-hand knowledge of contemporary art from a guided tour of the Walker Art Center. They will be exposed to art from world-renowned professional artists working in mixed mediums. Students will also be exposed to critical thinking skills enhanced by group discussions led by the tour guide.
