RE: Off-Campus, University-Sanctioned Event
FROM: Brett Kallusky, Art Department
The Art Department is sponsoring an off-campus activity and a student in your course might miss class time. The offices of the Provost and the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs require that students provide this notice to you no later than one week prior to their scheduled activity to be in compliance with appropriate policies. Your consideration in allowing them to complete course assignments and work in compliance with these university’s policies* is appreciated. Thank you for your support and cooperation. Additional details are below.
Dates & Times (“activities should not be scheduled during the final exam period or one week prior to final examinations”): Friday, December 1 (10am – 4pm)
Activity: Photography and New Media Print Study Room visit at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts
Academic Rationale for Absence: Art Department Photography students (Art 335) will have the opportunity to view prints from the Mia’s Photography and New Media Department in person with curator Yasufumi Nakamori, PhD and Joseph Doherty (PNM Administrative Assistant). This visit will be unique as students will be able to look at prints (that they chose) outside of the context of exhibition as a supplement to this semester’s section of photographic art history in Art 335.
