RE: Off-Campus, University-Sanctioned Event
FROM: Jodee Schaben, Health and Human Performance
The Health and Human Performance Department is sponsoring an off-campus activity and a student in your course might miss class time. The offices of the Provost and the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs require that students provide this notice to you no later than one week prior to their scheduled activity to be in compliance with appropriate policies. Your consideration in allowing them to complete course assignments and work in compliance with these university’s policies* is appreciated. Thank you for your support and cooperation. Additional details are below.
Dates & Times (“activities should not be scheduled during the final exam period or one week prior to final examinations”): October 13, 2016 9am to October 14, 2016 at 3:30pm
Activity: Northland American College of Sports Medicine Conference, Mankato, MN
Academic Rationale for Absence: Attendance at a conference is good for the student’s professional development and networking. It will give them an opportunity to be exposed to different aspects of the field and learn from other professionals in the region. As an intro level course, it is important that they explore different career opportunities to confirm they are pursuing the right career path.
