RE: Off-Campus, University-Sanctioned Event
FROM: Rhonda Willers, Art Department
The Art Department is sponsoring an off-campus activity and a student in your course might miss class time. The offices of the Provost and the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs require that students provide this notice to you no later than one week prior to their scheduled activity to be in compliance with appropriate policies. Your consideration in allowing them to complete course assignments and work in compliance with these university’s policies* is appreciated. Thank you for your support and cooperation. Additional details are below.
Dates & Times (“activities should not be scheduled during the final exam period or one week prior to final examinations”): Tuesday, March 21st – Sunday, March 26th
Activity: Ceramics students will attend the national ceramics conference, NCECA, in Portland, Oregon.
Academic Rationale for Absence: Participating students will attend demonstrations, panel discussions, roundtable discussion sessions, student critiques and gallery exhibitions. These events are organized and presented by professionals in the field of ceramics from which students can learn professional practices, critical thinking and creative problem solving skills.
