Planned power outage
A planned power outage for main campus is planned Sunday, May 13, for repair work. Power will be off from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. This power outage will not affect the C.H.I.L.D. Center or Hunt/Knowles complex. If you have questions, call Facilities Management at 3827.

Retirement celebration set for Sherry Reis
Please join the Mathematic Department as we celebrate Sherry Reis' more than 35 years of service with UWRF and wish her good luck in her retirement on Wednesday, May 30, from 1-3 p.m. In the Chancellor's Conference Room, 114 NH.

Auction items posted
Items for auction have been posted on http:www.wisconsinsurplus.com under UW-River Falls. Items include Melink fire safe, black walnut logs and fiberglass tablet arm chairs. The auction closes Friday, May 18. Contact Nathan Beeman at 3827.

*  1:30-2:30 p.m., 152 CSH, "IceCube Observatory and Galactic Cosmic Ray Anisotropy" a talk by physics position candidate, Rasha Abbasi from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Department of Physics. All are welcome. Contact the Physics Department at 3235.

*  1:30 p.m., Willow River Room, UC, Candidate Open Forum for Student Organization and Leadership Coordinator: Andrew Cleveland.  (This is the second of three candidates to visit campus. The third candidate visits tomorrow, May 10, at 1:30 p.m.). Cleveland is a graduate of Northwestern College in Orange County, Iowa and received his master’s in Higher Education from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pa. He is currently a hall director at UW-Stout where he hires, trains, and supervises student staff and advises programming boards and events, and also serves as the civic engagement coordinator for the department. Cleveland also served as the assistant director of Student Life at Concordia University in Portland, Ore., where he coordinated student staff trainings and retreats, supervised student intramural coordinators, and coordinated and taught resident advisor classes. *  3-4 p.m., upper level breezeway, Davee Library, Lion’s Paw Book Club meeting. Discussion of "Confederates in the Attic: Dispatches from the Unfinished Civil War" by Tony Horwitz. The discussion leader is Tim Ericson, retired director of the UWRF Archives and Area Research Center. All are welcome. This is the last monthly meeting of the Book Club for the 2011-12 season.
