Unity in the Community events moved inside
Due to weather projections (rain, cloud cover and temperature), Unity in the Community events are moved inside the UC today. Entertainment and activities are moved to the Falcon's Nest
from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. A full food buffet (transfer) is available in Riverside Commons from 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. and a to-go buffet (cash, credit, dining and Falcon Dollars) is available in the Falls Room from 11 a.m.-1 P.m. to allow people to get food to take to
the Falcon's Nest to eat and enjoy the entertainment. The 2nd Hand Sale is cancelled. All other events and activities remain the same. Contact

'Pathway to Distinction' celebration is tomorrow
UWRF's next five-year strategic plan, “Pathway to Distinction,” will be celebrated Thursday, April 26, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. in the Riverview Ballroom,
UC. Everyone is encouraged to attend this event featuring displays, activities, and a film all highlighting UWRF’s strengths in areas related to the plan’s three goals: Distinctive Academic Excellence, Global Education and Engagement, and Innovation and Partnerships.

Unclassified leave training this week
Several half-hour training sessions are being offered this week to prepare unclassified employees for the move from paper leave reports to online leave reporting, beginning with the reporting
of April absences. If you are a leave-eligible unclassified employee (faculty, academic staff, or limited appointment), and haven’t attended a session yet, please try to find one that will work with your schedule. The training schedule is available at http://www.uwrf.edu/HumanResources/HRSSelfService.cfm.
No R.S.V.P. needed. Support staff are also welcome to attend. Unclassified employees will have system access to enter absences on Monday, April 30. Please enter by Saturday, May 5, and approve by Thursday, May 10.
Annual plant sale tomorrow, Friday
The PAX Annual Plant Sale is Thursday and Friday, April 26-27, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on the north patio, UC. Hanging baskets, patio pots and flowering potted plants for Mother’s Day, wide

Student billing statements now available
Student billing statements are now available in eSIS Student Center instead of QuikPAY. Authorized payers (parents) will temporarily lose direct access to billing statements. They will
retain access to account balances and electronic payments in QuikPAY during the transition to third party access within eSIS which is expected to be completed no later than November 2012. Contact brenda.rudberg@uwrf.edu.

3:30 p.m., 15 North Hall, Mathematics Seminar: "The Eigenface Problem: Using Eigenvalues and Eigenvectors for Facial Recognition" by Katelyn Monaghan. By treating the brightness levels of the pixels of a photograph as components of a vector, eigenvalues
and eigenvectors can be used to recognize the face of a person in a photograph. Open to everyone. Contact the Mathematics Department at 3326.
Thursday, April 26, 3:50 p.m., 15 North Hall, Mathematics Seminar: "Counting and Claims About the GCD of the
Fibonacci Numbers," by Jamie Hying. In this talk, the Fibonacci numbers are alternatively defined as counting numbers, which lends itself to combinatorial proofs. This idea will be used to explore properties of the Fibonacci numbers that include
