Events focus on Asian Awareness Month 


Members of the Asian American Students Association model traditional fashions Thursday during Asian Awareness Month: Hmong Archives Performance in the UC. Another Asian Awareness Month event, "History of Acupuncture & Oriental Herb Medicine" is tonight from 6-7 p.m. in the St. Croix Room, UC. UWRF Health Fair set for Wednesday

Step right up to your healthy lifestyle. This year the annual UWRF Health Fair has a carnival theme and is set for Wednesday, April 18, from 10 a.m. -2 p.m. in the Riverview Ballroom, UC. It is an interactive event consisting of different health-related activities, demonstrations and prizes. Activities include body composition analysis, hearing screening, free massages, fitness demos, food, hair up-do’s, and a yoga and kettle bell demonstration. Please join us and relieve some stress with a day filled with fun activities and freebees. For more information, contact Elizabeth Nelson at 3293.


Taste and vote on your favorite ice cream flavor

More than 188 flavors were submitted this month for the CAFES Centennial Ice Cream Flavor Contest. Stop by the UC between 10 a.m.-2 p.m. today, April 17, and Wednesday, April 18, to taste and vote for your favorite flavor including Lemon-Lovin’ Centennial Poppy Seed Muffin, Centennial Wake Up Call, or Midnight Centennial Snack. The winning flavor will receive a $100 VISA gift card. Starting this fall, you can purchase the Centennial flavor in the Falcon Foods Store and the C-Store in the UC. You'll also get a chance to taste it at CAFES campus-wide Birthday Celebration in September. Can't make it to the UC to taste our finalist flavors? Upcoming Events

Wednesday, April 18, 2-3:30 p.m., Kinnickinnic Theater, UC, Spring Video Series: "On Our Watch: The Genocide in Darfur," sponsored by the Association for International Development. A discussion will follow the viewing of the film. Free and open to the public. Contact paige.miller@uwrf.edu.

April 18 and 19, two shows per day:  3-5 p.m. and 5-7 p.m., Wall Amphitheatre, Civil War Re-enactment. Organized and sponsored by the UWRF History Club. Performed by a husband and wfie who re-enact military and household aspects of life during the Civil War.  Free and open to the public. Rain site is Abbott Concert Hall, KFA.
