Trip to Chile inspires UWRF student's pottery

UWRF art student Theresa Schneveis works on a piece of pottery in Professor Randy Johnson's class on Friday. Schneveis said she was inspired by the pre-Columbian art that she saw while on the Art in Chile: A Studio Intensive class held March 3-17 with the UWRF Art Department. Students travelled to Santiago, Chile, with Johnston and assistant professor Kaylee Spencer and participated in intensive studio classes at Curaumilla Art Center with a focus on clay exploration and other 3-D media. While there, they were exposed to the rich artistic achievements of the region's indigenous people and past and were able to see the thriving contemporary art scene. Submitted photo.
