Informal listening and discussion sessions with Chancellor Van Galen this week

As part of an effort to facilitate open communication, Chancellor Van Galen is hosting two more informal listening and discussion sessions this week:

*  Wednesday, March 21, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., 119 and 120 WEB

*  Thursday, March 22, from 10-11 a.m., 211 CSH


Excellence in Teaching and Learning Series continues today
The campus community is invited to attend the next session of the Excellence in Teaching and Learning Series today at 4 p.m. in the St. Croix Room, UC. Erick Hofacker, UWRF professor of mathemetics, will share his ideas on using technology to create a flipped classroom. There will be ample time for discussion and conversation with colleagues. Chancellor's Student Ambassadors applications open

The Chancellor’s Student Ambassadors (CSA) group is now accepting applications for the 2012-13 academic year. If you know of students who are looking to join a student leadership organization on campus or of student leaders who you think would be interested in joining this group, please encourage them to apply. Many previous CSA’s applied because they were recommended by a faculty or staff member. Application deadline is Friday, April 6, at 12 p.m. To learn more about the Chancellor's Student Ambassadors, visit the CSA website at:  http://www.uwrf.edu/UniversityAdvancement/CSA.cfm. The application process and selection timeline is outlined on the CSA website. 


Career Fair input sought

Career Services is open to requests for organizations that you would like to see at the Career Fair. Please email cfcoordinator@uwrf.edu with names of employers/organizations and email addresses of the contacts that you wish to have invited to the Career Fair. Thursday, March 29, 4 p.m., 271 CSH, Biotechnology Seminar: "Responses of Arteries to Altered Blood Flow and Pressure," by Research Associate Zhijie Wang, a research Associate in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at UW-Madison. Wang’s travel is supported through a NSF Advance grant awarded to the UW Women & Science Program. Prior to the talk from 11 a.m.-1 pm, students are invited to meet with Wang in 173 CSH to discuss research and graduate program opportunities. Refreshments will be provided.
