Farewell reception for Torrion
All students, staff and faculty are invited to wish Torrion Amie, director of Student Support Services, a fond farewell on Thursday, Dec. 15, from 1-2:30 p.m. in the Falls Room, UC. He has accepted a new position as director of advising and counseling at Normandale Community College. Torrion has touched many lives on campus through Student Support Services, McNair Scholars Program, Multicultural Academic Programs, Upward Bound, Pre-Major advising, Admissions, Dance Theater, assistant track coach, HHP instructor—just to name a few. 15-passenger van training
Two training sessions for 15-passenger vans will be offered Wednesday, Jan. 18, or Thursday, Feb. 16, starting at 7:30 a.m. in Facilities Management. Training includes a classroom session followed with behind-the-wheel driving. A fee of $50 will be charged to your department account. To register for one of these sessions, contact brenda.dunse@uwrf.edu. Call 3827 with questions.

Annual boiler maintenance shutdown
For your long range planning, please note the boilers are down every spring for two weeks following the closing of the residence halls. Steam that provides hot water, cooking, distilling, pasteurization, drying and sterilization will not be available during that time. The 2012 spring shutdown will begin Saturday, May 12, at 5 p.m. and will be back on Tuesday, May 29, in the afternoon. Contact Bill Girnau at 3955 with questions.

*  Today-Wednesday, Dec. 14, Gallery 101, KFA, Scholarship Art Sale. Quality handmade artwork available for purchase with 35 percent of the purchase providing financial support for UWRF art scholarships, the student run organization Art Society and the visiting artists fund. The remaining 65 percent goes directly to the selling student artists, alumni and supporters of Gallery 101. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.; Sunday 2-4 p.m. Contact the Art Department at 3266.
