Now you know
October is Wisconsin Archives Month. This year's theme is
"Postcard
Wisconsin" and serves to highlight the preservation of memories and the
sharing of stories about individuals, their families, and their
experiences through archival documents such as historical postcards.
A wide variety of unique, historical postcards are on display in the
exhibit case near the entrance to the University Archives and Area
Research Center on the lower level of the Davee Library.
October is also celebrated nationally as American Archives Month, a
collaborative effort by professional
organizations and repositories around the nation to highlight the
importance of records of enduring value.

individuals and organizations outside of the university community that
have made exemplary contributions to UWRF through their support of our
goals and their volunteer efforts on our behalf. The 2010 Outstanding
Service Award recipient(s) will be recognized at Commencement in
December 2010. Award recipients are selected by the UWRF Chancellor

written recommendation should be attached to the nomination form and is
limited to two pages. At no time will more than three awards be given
in a single year.
The written recommendation should address the following award criteria:
• Demonstrated contributions of time, talent, and/or financial
support to UWRF over a period of at least five years. Length of service
will be a major factor in determining the recipient.
