Social justice speaker draws crowd
Chelsea Gullen spoke to a crowd Tuesday evening
in the University Center with her address "Does HIV Look Like Me?" The
lecture was the first of the academic year in the Social
Justice Series sponsored by Falcon Programs. The next
lecture, "Be the Change You Want to Be" by Jessica Pettitt, is set for
Tuesday, Oct. 5, from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Riverview Ballroom, UC.
Pettitt will be on campus earlier in the day for a session aimed at
faculty and staff called "The Day Everything Changed" from 11:30
a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Kinnickinnic Theater, UC. This interactive
program, facilitated discussion, and supportive action planning session
will examine the gap between social responsibility and the campus code
of conduct in the event of an incident or crisis on campus. A third
session by Pettitt that day, "Just Rescue," from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the
Kinnickinnic Theater, UC, will deal with finding a way to work with
judgments and assumptions made while making decisions based on limited
information. For more information, contact rachel.tobias@uwrf.edu. For

When completed in March 2011, the master plan will be the first of its
kind for UWRF in more than 40 years. Contact melissa.fitzenberger@uwrf.edu.
